If this is the first time you’ve considered daycare  or boarding for your dog, please read the following information about our general requirements. Don’t hesitate to give us a call or email us if you have any further questions. We want you to be confident that our primary goal is to make sure all of the dogs in our care are in a healthy and safe environment.

Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella (canine cough) vaccinations must be current for all guests of The Barkmont.

Please send us your dog’s vaccination records via our customer portal. Please allow at least 2 days for us to process your dog’s vaccination records before scheduling your dog’s Evaluation Day session. If your dog’s vaccination record is not updated within 2 days of your entering it into the portal, please call us directly and we will try to remedy the issue as quickly as possible.

General Health

Dogs must be in good health and free of any communicable disease for 30 days before coming to The Barkmont . If your dog becomes sick with a communicable disease, we require veterinarian certification of good health before returning to The Barkmont.

Dogs must be free of fleas, ticks and worms. Flea collars are not allowed. If we think that your dog is unwell or has parasites, we will isolate them and contact you for immediate pick up.

Age

For group play, dogs must be at least 14 weeks of age and have completed all series of their puppy vaccinations . We have separate yards for the special attention and feeding of younger puppies and senior dogs in our care.

Evaluation Period

In order to ensure your dog will have the best time possible at The Barkmont, we require each dog to complete an evaluation day before booking a daycare or boarding stay.

Evaluation days take place  on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with drop off times  between 10am and 11am and pick up times are  between 3pm and 4pm. Once your dog has completed their  evaluation day, we will send home a report card detailing  how their first day went.
Before accepting a dog for boarding, we require them to complete the evaluation day, at least one trial day of daycare, and one trial night of boarding prior  to scheduling  any additional boarding sessions. This is to ensure that your furry friend  has time to acclimate to our social environment  and has the most enjoyable boarding stay  possible!

Re-Orientation Days

Please note that any guest who  has not visited The Barkmont within  the last three  months, will require at least one  day of daycare prior to booking a future boarding stay at The Barkmont. This is to ensure that all of our canine guests are comfortable and carefree being in our social environment.
